INTRODUCTION
This loving restored Victorian property built around 1906, in the heart of Victorian country, Montagu, South Africa (also renowned for it's hot springs and healthy way of life) is more than a hotel and more than a guest house.
In fact our effort has gone into creating something quite unique. With the mod cons of a five star hotel and the homely feel of a guest house, The Victorian or ‘The Vic’ as it is more affectionately known is a triumph of classical Victorian....with a 'twist'.
A WALK THROUGH THE VIC 1906
The distinguishable exterior leads you into a French style sidewalk cafe to a welcoming, superbly appointed reception area. You are immediately captivated by the old and the new harmoniously blended together. Respect for the order and strictness of the Victorian era is juxtaposed with the most modern playful and delectable color palette. Fabrics in rich hews of reds, pinks, greens, gold's, offset with the shtick of Italian tiled floors beneath heavenly chandlers makes for a most refreshing atmosphere, and as one visitor said...'just being here rejuvenates the soul'.
On the right a solid handcrafted 20 seater pub in an intimate setting takes you back a century, and only the list of international drinks confirms you are in the new millennium.
On the left an exquisite restaurant that seats up to 40 guests serves the freshest and most wholesome meals specializing in real authentic South African traditional cuisine.
Whist overlooking our secluded courtyard pool, a beautiful flight of stairs takes you to the upper level where our suites are situated.
Individually appointed and decorated, our luxury double rooms with beautiful bathrooms and balconies overlook the impressive Overberg Mountains.
